Constructed in 2008, it is one of only two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses in Ireland and measures over 7,700 yards from the back tees. With a significant investment in drainage during construction, the course is playable 365 days a year. During the construction phase, there were over 500 miles of drainage channels installed and over 40,000 tonnes of sand utilised, making it a challenging yet enjoyable course to play. The course features mature trees and small ponds, adding to its unique character.
Designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, the course is a magnificent test of golf, showcasing modern golfing excellence in terms of design and presentation. Jack Nicklaus, with his record of 18 major championships and close to 300 golf courses designed around the world, has created some legendary golf holes at Killeen Castle. He described the course as "one of my proudest designs".
The course is suitable for golfers of all abilities and has hosted the 2011 Solheim Cup and the Ladies Irish Open 2010-2012. It has been voted the Best Parkland Course in the greater Dublin area numerous times. The course offers the ultimate championship golfing experience that every golfer dreams of.
